BTech Admission Process in Best Engineering Colleges

BTech Admission Process 2020-21

In this modern and technical world, everyone wish to enter top engineering college in India to complete their studies. For this, it is mandatory to have awareness of BTech Admission Process 2020-21, list of good BTech colleges in India, entrance exams and their dates, etc. However, engineering colleges does not follow a similar admission process for the BTech admission. Every top engineering college have different components to determine the eligibility of candidates for BTech admission. On the other hand, the BTech courses involves different specializations like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering etc. Students are free to choose any specialization that suits their aspirations.

At national and state level, there are multiple engineering entrance exams in India. It is up to the students to choose the national or state-level engineering test based on their requirements.

Students often confused about the terms B.E (Bachelor of Engineering) and BTech (Bachelor of Technology). Some of the colleges may offer B.E while some offer BTech.

Best Engineering Entrance Exam for BTech Admission

It is important for the students to target an engineering entrance exam depending on their requirements. If they want to secure admission in government institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs and Government-Funded Technical Institutes, they must aim for JEE Main or JEE Advanced. Such students must be ready to Shift or migrate to the place where they gets BTech admission.

For instance, if a student from Jaipur wants to secure admission in Arya College. They can easily achieve it. But if they wish to opt any government college, they must be ready to migrate to other places after getting admission through JEE Main. Students must stay in the hostels of respective institutes and seek paid accommodation outside the college campus. An individual with such a mindset can aim for national-level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main or JEE Advanced.

Similarly, candidates who are willing to gain exposure by taking admission in institutes outside their state can also aim for national-level engineering entrance exams. If a student wants to get BTech admission within their state, they must aim for state-level engineering entrance exam. But if they wish to stay in the hostel or paid accommodation and prefer to travel from home to college or college to home can aim for state-level engineering entrance exam.

From the above analysis, an individual might have understood that they could not find out the best entrance exam for engineering courses, as different engineering exams bound to certain requirements of both the students and the parents.

BTech Eligibility Criteria

The BTech eligibility criteria is the same all over the country, and the basic qualification required to join BTech course in India is as follows –

In order to pursue BTech course, candidates must pass Class 12 examinations in Science stream. The students must have Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as their subjects in Class 12. Those students who have studied only these subjects in Class 12 treated eligible for BTech admission.

In addition, every candidate must score at least 50% of marks in Class 12 to be eligible for BTech admission in Best Engineering Colleges across the country. However, students who belongs to reserved categories like SC/ ST will have the relaxation of up to 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.

There are some of the engineering stream like Biomedical Engineering. Where students must have studied Biology as one of the subjects in Class 12.

BTech Admission Process 2020

BTech Admission process for the academic session 2020-21 will begin in March or April. Almost, all the states has started the entrance exam process for UG BTech admission. BTech admission process in IITs, NITs, and IIITs is different from UG engineering admission process in all other Top Private Engineering Colleges. Similarly, the admissions in one state is different from the other. It is significant to look into some key points related to engineering admission, including:

Acceptability of Entrance Exam Score in engineering:

Between various engineering colleges in India, the big difference is acceptability of entrance test score. Every top engineering college in India does not accept the score of a single engineering entrance exam for this admission process. The acceptability of entrance test score varies from every college and state. JEE Main is the widely acceptable entrance test, and most of the engineering colleges accept JEE Mains score. There are other popular state-level engineering entrance exams among students. However, state-level engineering entrance exams are limited to a specific state.

Multiple Entrance Exams and Score Acceptability:

In different states, both national-level and state-level engineering entrance test is acceptable. For example, it is based on JEE Main/ MHT CET in Maharashtra, 15% seats are reserved for students in Himachal Pradesh, etc.

Direct Admission without Entrance:

In various private engineering colleges, there is a probability for getting direct admission without an entrance test score. Such admissions will be treated as management quota admissions, and the fees collected for management quota admissions is higher that entrance-based admissions in BTech Colleges in India.

Centralized Admission Process without Entrance:

In some states, there is no entrance exam for any engineering course. Also, the admission is purely based on Class 12 merit. In such states, the centralized admission process is conducted for UG engineering admissions. So, it is essential for all students in the state to take part in entrance examinations according to their criterion to secure a seat under state or concession quota.
